Mystical Awakening
Proponents of meditation, at least the ones who might border on the fanatical, will insist that everyone must spend at least some time every day in the deep practice of calming the mind. Then there are those who simply meditate every day, insisting on nothing, but still find themselves in the practice of calming the mind.
There are many schools of thought when it comes to meditation. The more fluid is one’s definition of meditation, the more perspectives there are, and also more opportunities for inner growth. In various practices, such as Sahaja Meditation , the emphasis is less on the formal practice where years of study and devotion are necessary to attain some kind of enlightenment. There are many roads, in fact, that are based in spontaneous experience.
Here, the person who is affected by a sudden flash, realization, or intuition, will discover that there are deep inner resources that run through everything. A moment that contains seeds of a mystical awakening is not only possible for anyone at any time, but it is also very likely. It’s not necessarily a matter of having years of practice in order to tune into the moment, although that can certainly help. What’s really essential is to simply pay attention when it happens.
